HISTORY:

hello there, my name is charlie. i have lived in inglewood, new zeland for as long as i can remember. both of my parents and even their parents have lived here as well. it is just a long chain of family that has lived in this microscopic piece of a town. but don't get me wrong, i kind of like it here. i like knowing my neighbors and getting all the gossip that goes and comes around town. it is definitely an interesting life here. i guess i should start with my mother. she is a "dancer". she doesn't like to be called anything other than a dancer, but everyone knows she is really a stripper. and that bothers a lot of people, but i didn't really mind so much. at least me mom is practicing safe sex and keeping fit. i never saw her as a bad roll model for me. she is a loving mother when she is here, but she is gone so much i hardly ever get to see her. she comes from a very poor family and it was the only way she knew how to make money. and i guess i descended from a long line of adult performers. it was all my mom ever knew, but because of who she married, i am going to end up differently. she married into a pretty wealthy family. the duvall's are known for having money and some people in the family suffer for addiction. my father however was not one of those people. he threw himself into his work and still hasn't slowed down. he keep's saying how he wants to do something different with his life instead of going into the family business. but he won't. he doesn't have the mental strength. he is a weak person if you ask me. so i bet you are wondering how these two polar opposites meet. well here is an unexpected twist. they got together in a strip club. my dad was there for his older brother's bachelor party. he always told me he was very awkward to be there, that he wanted to go home to his girlfriend at the time, but his brother was making him stay. my mom was bar tending at the time, and saw how awkward he looked. she took pity on him and struck up a conversation. they laughed and talked for the rest of the night. my dad said it was love at first laugh, but my mom saw him as jut another guy in the strip club. she had no idea who he was or what he was worth. they got to know each other and my dad left his girlfriend to be with my mom. it was one of the last things he did that wasn't work related. they got married and almost nine months to the date i was born. i am an unplanned baby, and neither one of my parents were ready to have me. they tried to be parents, but they were always busy with other things. i was left alone a lot when i was younger, and now that i am older, they treat me more like a friend than a daughter. now they are talking about having a planned child now that both of their work has settled down. my dad is staying with the family business and my mom quite her job and is talking about becoming a full time mom. at first it kind of pissed me off, but now i just don't care. i hope baby number two has a better childhood than i did. maybe i can be a cool older sister. oh and i almost forgot to mention what i have been up to recently. well i am still living at home, i don't have a job, i drink all the time, and living a party life. my dad is pushing me to start planing my life and trying to get me to joy the rest of the family in making money, but that was never really my thing. drinking is fun.
